JC Pacesetters is a local Special Olympics team, serving Junction City and Fort Riley. The program is for individuals with intellectual disabilities to compete in different sports and social events almost every week.
Sports & Activities
Sports include:
- Basketball
- Bowling
- Track and field
Other activities include social events and fitness classes such as Zumba.
Registration & Fees
Registration occurs year-round. Email Coach Hagerty, or call 785-209-1996 for sign up details. Participants are required to have a physical to register and to submit a new physical every two years.
There is no fee to participate in Pacesetters.
Events & Travel
Weekly events are held locally in Junction City. Pacesetters participates in Special Olympics Kansas state tournaments in Topeka and Wichita each year.
Ages
Pacesetters is open to all individuals with an intellectual disability from age 8 and up.
